The scholarship program is open to Canadian citizens or permanent residents of Canada with a permanent disability who are currently registered in and returning to a full-time program of study at an accredited Canadian post-secondary college or university.

If you are a survivor of childhood cancer, our scholarship fund was designed to level the playing field for you and your family. The Kids Cancer Care Derek Wandzura Memorial Scholarship, presented by Enmax, is a one-time award available to childhood cancer patients and survivors, for use in post-secondary studies. Scholarships are awarded based on the quality of application. Applicants must be a childhood cancer patient or survivor and be a resident of Southern Alberta. Diagnosis must have occurred at age 18 or younger.

With this program, Voices of Albertans with Disabilities support students who have a disability to achieve their post-secondary goals. To be eligible for the Education for Life Bursary, applicants must have a disability, live in Alberta, be registered for post secondary program, and meet eligibility criteria (see website for full details).

The Kevin Collins Abilities Scholarship is presented to a post-secondary student with a disability. Eligible applicants must have at minimum one full semester left in their post-secondary education.

Established in memory of Norman Denoon, the Easter Seals Alberta Norman Denoon Memorial Scholarship offers post-secondary academic scholarships to students living with disabilities or medical condition that have made a significant contribution through volunteerism or advocacy. Scholarships up to $5,000 per school year are given to qualified students working towards a post-secondary program in Alberta.

Phyllis Davidson Easter Seals Scholarship offers post-secondary academic scholarships to students living with physical disabilities. Created in loving memory of Phyllis Davidson, these scholarships help ease financial strain and support the recipient’s academic success. Scholarships up to $5,000 per school year are given to qualified students working towards a post-secondary program in Alberta.

CNIB post-secondary scholarships help support people who are blind, Deafblind, or have low vision in their educational journeys. From youth entering apprenticeships or skilled trades to adults enrolling in continuing education or certificate programs – and everyone in between – there are multiple scholarships, bursaries, and other educational awards available.

Terry Fox Humanitarian Awards are open to students of all abilities who are Canadian citizens or landed immigrants and are involved in voluntary humanitarian activities (for which they have not been compensated). Terry Fox Humanitarian Award recipients are selected for their dedication to the humanitarian ideals of Terry Fox, their courage in overcoming obstacles, and definite marks of distinction and persistence in the pursuit of excellence in academic, athletic, and civic life.

The Charmaine Letourneau Scholarship is awarded each year to a Deaf or Hard of Hearing person who will attend an academic or training program at a qualified institution. Priority is given to individuals who demonstrate involvement in Deaf and Hard of Hearing organizations, school or community leadership, commitment to and diligence in studies, and likelihood the program of study will lead to employment or further educational opportunities.

This award has been established to support a learner enrolled in Bow Valley College’s Disabilities Studies Diploma program. Recipients will value diversity and foster an environment of respect, acceptance, accessibility, and interdependence. This scholarship is open to Canadian citizens or landed immigrants.

This award was established to support a learner with developmental disabilities attending Bow Valley College. The recipient of this scholarship is a classroom leader who is engaged in their education and personal growth. This scholarship is open to Canadian citizens or landed immigrants.

Eligible applicants must meet all the following conditions: be a Canadian citizen or permanent resident; be enrolled in an accredited college or university in British Columbia or Alberta; and be a person with significant physical disabilities or ongoing health challenges. Applicants with mental health challenges are invited to apply if they also have a significant physical disability.

Each year, we’ll give up to $3,000 to a person who is Deaf or hard-of-hearing. This person should be studying in a school program. The money can be used to help pay for school fees, books, and other things needed for learning.

This scholarship aims to recognize All-Star students who have persevered in the face of a learning limitation or disability (invisible/visible, i.e., ADHD, Dyslexia, hearing impaired, etc.). Applicant must identify as Muslim; having a learning limitation and/or disability (as defined by the Accessible Canada Act); and is currently enrolled full time in their last year at a recognized Canadian High School/CEGEP program and intends to pursue post secondary education full time in the fall.

The Workplace Readiness Mentorship Program, funded by Sun Life, will provide one $2,000 scholarship to a student in Alberta who is entering or currently enrolled in a post-secondary institution and match them with a volunteer mentor who will provide guidance and assist them in preparing for the workplace.
