Students in MRU's Inclusive Post-Secondary Education are enrolled in a variety of programs of study throughout the University, and we work to expand those programs of study based on the interest of each individual student. Students are encouraged and supported to connect with their classmates, get involved in various on-campus extra-curricular activities and events, and to pursue interest specific practicum and work opportunities. Please contact your PDD Service Coordinator directly to receive a referral.

Launch+ Skills
Launch + Skills is an individualized skills coaching program designed to help autistic individuals who are ready to pursue goals in employment, education, or living independently in the community. Whether you are a teenager transitioning to adulthood, or you are already an adult, Launch + Skills was developed as an intensive program to help you learn the skills you need to achieve your goals. This program is for those who are unlikely to be eligible for adult program funding through Persons with Developmental Disabilities (PDD; Government of Alberta).

Mentorship Program for Autism at the University of Calgary
The Mentorship Program for Autism at University of Calgary aims to support students with autism spectrum disorder to enhance their likelihood of academic success or obtain additional supports for learning social skills and addressing mental health challenges. Each mentee will be paired with an individual mentor with whom they will meet on a biweekly basis. Participants must be enrolled with the University of Calgary in any capacity. Participants must have a formal diagnosis or self-identified diagnosis of autism spectrum disorder.

CNIB post-secondary scholarships help support people who are blind, Deafblind, or have low vision in their educational journeys. From youth entering apprenticeships or skilled trades to adults enrolling in continuing education or certificate programs – and everyone in between – there are multiple scholarships, bursaries, and other educational awards available.

Transitional Vocational Program (TVP)
Since 1980, the Transitional Vocational Program at Mount Royal University has been providing a variety of post-secondary programs to adults with developmental disabilities. The Employment Preparation Certificate program was also established in 1980 and has, with continuous development, evaluation and change, supported students to find and maintain competitive employment. The Transitional Vocational Program also offers part-time studies. Courses include Functional Literacy and Math; Computers, Tablets and Smartphones; Learner's Licence Test Preparation; Life Skills; Introduction to Computer Coding; Graphic Design; Basic Living Skills; Personal Safety; Understanding the World Today; The Wonderful World of Music; Standard First Aid (accommodated), and Eating Right, Living Right.
